Welcome to my blog
By Brigitta Bouwer
Hello dear soul,
My name is Brigitta. I am a yoga teacher and gym owner living in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa. I have to admit, I came to know yoga, spirituality and the concepts of wellness quite by chance.
My journey began much like many of you.
I grew up in a hard-working family. Attended a good school and later went on to a good university. I completed my bachelor’s degree in business commerce and began my career working long hours in an IT company.
Happily, I continued on along my intended (and decidedly acceptable) career path, set on making it to the top. My desire was to become a force to be reckoned with in business, an untouchable power, a woman who could accomplish anything she set her sights on.
After a few years spent fighting my way to the top of a male dominated company (I was literally the only woman), I moved into the world of retail and fashion, of image, beauty, and competition- into a world I was less comfortable with- one saturated with women.
My passage through life and inevitable tumble into wellness and personal development has been anything but smooth sailing.
I believe that it is this precise reason that I am able to put into words concepts which often seem downright other worldly.
Although, with time, you will get the opportunity to know more about my mistakes, failings, shadow aspects and a whole lot more cringe-worthy facts and tales. I also look forward to sharing with you many of my triumphs, successes, and joys.
This blog is my way of sharing thoughts, experiences, insights, and lessons with you. It is my hope that you will find here, a place to come home to your unique and radiant nature.
You see it was not until I began to scratch the surface of the unexplained power of the mind and soul that I truly began to see just how incredibly powerful we actually are.
I have made the transition from living a life centered on achieving goals attached to financial prestige and power, to one which is in alignment with my heart. My life is transforming to one of deep passion and inspiration.
My hope is that this blog will help you to do the same.
I have learnt that you can live a life that is different to what society may have told you is acceptable. That you can thrive in a life that is different from the norm. That you can follow your passion. That you can grow and expand far beyond what you were ever taught was possible.
In this blog I will share with you concepts and ideas which will assist you to shift the parameters of knowing what is possible for you. I will share ways of moving beyond the limitations we so often place upon ourselves.
More so than just providing you with a motivational blog about how to live and be well. I hope to share ways for you to become limitless, empowered, abundant and prosperous in every possible way!
My promise to you:
I will always endeavour to be my most authentic self.
Within this blog, you will find my story as it is, no embellishment and no hidden agendas.
I promise to share the wounds and darkness of my past, as well as the joy, the light and the “ah-ha” moments.
To share with you my journey through this life, in the hopes that it will help you to step onto the path that your heart so deeply calls you to walk.
I promise to stand by you on your journey and thank you for standing by me as I walk mine.
And so, dear soul, the journey of a thousand steps begins I suppose, with this, the first step…
